Our Goal:

We offer a fun and educational experience for all children. Our facility offers a variety of learning and fun programs. We want the children and parents to have the best experience with our daycare facility. We keep it professional and clean while still offering a happy and safe environment at a reasonable price.

 

            

 

Employee Policy         

New Employees:
    
New employees will have a 90 day probationary period to determine their ability to work with children and follow these rules. Failure to follow these rules can lead to dismissal. Please ask questions if you do not understand them.

Conflict of Interest:
    This policy is to assure the interest of Today's Child and their goal to offer equal and quality care for all children.  At all times, employees are prohibited from using their job title, the organization’s name or property for private profit or benefit. Similarly, Board members and parents of children. 
 “Conflict of interest” means an employee uses his or her official position for private gain, other than their salary (this would include saving on childcare expenses by watching their own children), gives preferential treatment to any entity or person in the conduct of official duties because of personal interest, impedes or adversely affects the efficiency or economy of the facility because of personal interest, fails to act impartially in the conduct of official duties because of personal interest, or engages in conduct that could adversely affect the confidence of the public or integrity of Today's Child.
   The term also means that the circumstances are such that a reasonable person might conclude that an individual’s judgment could be influenced by the nature of the circumstances or the individual(s) involved. Conflicts of interest may be actual or potential.

Absence:
All absences and tardies shall be documented and can eventually lead to termination of the position.
     Excused absences are scheduled in advance for such events as vacation, medical appointments, military service, family activities, surgery, jury duty, funerals and more that cannot be scheduled outside of regular work hours.

Phone, Cell phone, Internet and Computer usage:
Telephone, voice mail, email, and Internet usage are solely for the purpose of conducting Company business. Only people appropriately authorized, for Company purposes, may use the Internet or access additional software. Any unauthorized usage can also fall within our Conflict of Interest policy. Under no circumstances may Company computers or other electronic equipment be used to obtain, view, or reach any pornographic, or otherwise immoral, unethical, or non-business-related Internet sites. Doing so can lead to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
Personal communications or music: Any device that makes or receives phone calls, leaves messages, sends text messages, surfs the Internet, plays music, or downloads and allows for the reading of and responding to email shall NOT be tolerated during scheduled work hours. During the employees scheduled break times it will be permitted and only in designated areas to assure no interference with the operation or appearance of the facility.
 
Smoking:
Smoking is prohibited in all of the enclosed areas within the (Company) worksites, without exception. This includes common work areas, the classrooms, conference and meeting rooms, private offices, hallways, the lunchrooms, stairs, restrooms, employer owned or leased vehicles, and all other enclosed facilities.

Dress Code:
* We allow many types of apparel. Please ask before showing up with something a parent may not like.

Dresses: Casual dresses and skirts, and skirts that are split at or below the knee are acceptable. Dress and skirt length should be at a length at which you can sit comfortably in public. Short, tight skirts that ride halfway up the thigh are inappropriate for work. Mini-skirts, skorts, and spaghetti-strap dresses are inappropriate.
Pants: Slacks that are similar to Dockers and other makers of cotton or synthetic material pants, wool pants, flannel pants, dressy capris, and nice looking dress synthetic pants are acceptable. Slacks or pants include jeans, sweatpants, exercise pants are accepted. Inappropriate Pants include; Bermuda shorts, short shorts, work out shorts, leggings, and any spandex or other form-fitting pants such as people wear for biking.

Shirts: Casual shirts, dress shirts, sweaters, tops, and turtlenecks are acceptable attire for work. Standard jackets or dress jackets are also acceptable attire for the office, if they violate none of the listed guidelines. Inappropriate attire for work includes tank tops; midriff tops; shirts with potentially offensive words, terms, logos, pictures, cartoons, or slogans; halter-tops; tops with bare shoulders; oversize sweatshirts, and t-shirts unless worn under another blouse, shirt, jacket, or dress.
 
Tattoos: Any tattoos which are determined to be offensive or inappropriate to anything involving the education of a child, shall be required to be covered or hidden in a safe and presentable manner.
 
Weapons:
Employees may not, at any time while on any property owned, leased or controlled by Today's Child, including anywhere that company business is conducted, such as customer locations, client locations, vehicles owned or operated by Today's Child, restaurants, company event venues, and so forth, possess or use any weapon. Weapons include, but are not limited to, guns, knives or swords with blades, explosives, and any chemical whose purpose is to cause harm to another person or child.
 
Drug Free Work Place:
Today's Child requires all employees be free of any substances considered illegal or can interfere with their ability to perform their job. Although drug testing is not mandatory, Today's Child reserves the right to remove any potential hazardous situation from children such as someone appearing to be on a substance which impairs their ability to do their job. An employee has the right to bring drug test results if suspected of abuse. All prescribed drugs shall be disclosed by an employee before starting work. If these drugs have side effects which Today's Child finds harmful to their business or children that employee will not be allowed to work until approved by a doctor in writing the drug or the person will not create a potential hazard.
