TODAY'S CHILD PARENT HANDBOOK

CHILD CARE HOURS:
       6:30 A.M. to 6:30 P.M. MONDAY - FRIDAY

holidays for 2009
     Sept. 7th  Labor Day
     Nov.  26th and 27th  Thanksgiving
     Dec. 24th & 25th Christmas

REGISTRATION / SUPPLY FEE:
A one time registration/supply fee of $50 for one child or $75 per family is due at the time of enrollment.  This will assure your child's spot.  This fee is non-refundable.  At the time of enrollment, you will also be asked to fill out various forms.

TUITION:

Our center runs on tuition alone.
Payment is due weekly and on Friday before the week your child attends our daycare. There are no credits for missed or sick days. A two week written notice is required when terminating care.

The payment must be made by 5:00 PM on Friday. If you do not pay before this time, your child's enrollment is considered VOID.  If timely tuition is not paid, your child's admission will be revoked and your child may not return to Today's Child.  In order for your child to return, you must pay the balance plus a late charge of $15.00.
For those of you on subsidized funding:  We must have written or verbal confirmation from the State of Idaho, stating that you are a current participant in the ICCP program.  This will also confirm the percentage the state will pay and the remainder of which you are responsible for.  If you choose to start with Today's Child before we have confirmation, you must follow the payment policies as stated above.  Once the state has issued confirmation on your eligibility for the ICCP program, the proper credits can then be issued.  Your portion is always due, Friday before your child attends the daycare.

VACATION DAYS:
You are allowed one week (5 days) per year, of vacation time that you are not charged for.  When taking vacation time, we require one week advance written notice to be left with the office.  If information is only verbal between either the office or the teacher, the credit will not be given.  Clients must have attended Today's Child for a minimum of six months before vacation credits will be applied.  If at any time you choose to dis-enroll your child (ie. summer break, track break, Christmas break), you will lose your "vacation credit" privilege.

SCHEDULE CHANGES:
If it is necessary to change your child's schedule to either more or less days, it must be requested in writing. The request will be honored the following month, provided there is availability.
MEDICATION:
We will not administer any medication unless the daily medication form has been filled out and signed.  The medication logs are kept in each of the classrooms.  * * Note:  At the time of registration you will receive a form for administering infant / Children's Tylenol.  This form needs to be signed.  If you do not wish for us to give your child Tylenol, you will be called to pick your child up even with a slight fever.

PICK UP / DROP OFF FOR YOUR CHILD:
Today's Child DOES NOT encourage drop off between 10:30AM to 1:30PM. If you need/plan to drop your child off after 10:30AM, ALL requests must be approved by the office. If you desire to drop your child off after 1:30PM, you MUST call the office to make these arrangements in order for us to have proper staffing. The reason for the 10:30AM to 1:30PM drop off policy is due to "lunch" staff scheduling and the interruption of preparing the children for a nap.
If you are using the front drive-thru for dropping off or picking up your child, please do not exceed (3) minutes in the drive-thru. While in the drive-thru you MUST TURN OFF YOUR ENGINE. Obnoxious fumes can come into the office, infant room, and toddler room (East Center) that could be potentially uncomfortable or dangerous.
IF YOU ARE LATE:

If your child has still not been picked up within our regular hours, we will try to contact you or whomever you have listed on your child's registration form as an emergency contact(s). After (10) minutes charges will apply. Please read your contract for current charges and procedures.

SICK POLICY FOR CHILDREN:
You will be called to pick up your child if he/she is running a high temperature (and Tylenol will not bring it down), vomiting, severe diarrhea or appears to have any infectious disease, (i.e. chicken pox, impetigo, ring worm, pink eye, lice, etc.).
If your child does leave with this type of infection, for the protection of the other children, we will require a written doctor's release before your child will be allowed to return. (If a child requires any type of antibiotic, they must be taking it for a 24 hour period before returning). You must pick up your child within (1) hour, after we have contacted you. Your child will usually be isolated from the other children, depending on the severity of the illness.
*If your child is between Newborn and 24 months of age, they will be evaluated on a case-by-case situation. Please see the office for details.

NEWBORN to 24 MONTH OLD Sick Policy:
Since there are many things with this age group which can cause fever or vomiting, each child is evaluated based on their overall situation. Fevers may be cause by as simple things as cutting teeth. If your child's fever goes down after administering Tylenol and they are not requiring one-on-one care, we will not call you. If you child vomits, we will consider several things including some reflux problems or even gagging due to excess mucus. For these reason you may not be called to pick up your child. If you choose to be called for these situations, please sign below:
